Here is a freshly collected lionfish. We collected it from Ponquogue Bridge, Hampton Bays, NY. It is about 2 cm in length. Lionfish are native to the Pacific, but have now established themselves in the Atlantic. We have been heavily involved in studying their spread. For more info, check this link.
