I just got an email from CPS saying their new store is up and running at

http://shop.usa.canon.com …gory_10051_10051_-1_29757 (external link)

however, the 135L which I just bought is nowhere to be seen. I k kw there's another 135L demise thread but it's been diluted so here's a new one. John

i wouldn't consider them scams. they clearly want you to buy from their vendors. they don't want to undercut their own vendors who are out there pushing their product for them.

I actually bought this lens about 10 days ago. Mine was produced in August 2009 (UX08xx).

Do you mean if I broke into the lens factory right now I might see lenses being made that will not be announced for months? Wonder if they allow cameras on factory tours.

Yes that's right, and nhbeast said it's $570 US, so for the first time it's cheaper here in Australia than the US. We usually pay alot more than you.

yea, as long as your aussies and brits think of your prices in context to buying direct from canon in the states, you'll all be peachy. :D
