Just calibrated my monitor, and I feel like its a little too magenta.

Thoughts?

Well, this picture has a pretty strong magenta cast on my calibrated monitor. Especially in the shadows on the roof.

How would his magenta color cast come across in the picture? I would think that if you compensated for a magenta color cast from a badly calibrated monitor, another color would be out when the picture is viewed on a properly calibrated monitor. Blue/Cyan?

If your monitor has a magenta cast, you'll adjust pictures so they look blue to me.

So I see a magenta cast in the roof and so do you? If so, it's not your monitor, it's that picture's color balance.

Actually, I probably misstated my question.

After calibrating, the "before/after" move was in a magenta direction. The picture itself looks fine to me -- but the pictures before looked fine too.

So, if someone had a calibrated monitor, they should probably see too much magenta.

Just a little bit in the roof shadows and soffits.

Green I'd think...

I'm not sure this photo, or any one photo in particular, is good enough for us to judge. Perhaps you could enhance one or two other photos to your satisfaction and add them to your post for us to evaluate?

Have you got any prints (from a reputable lab) that you can compare to this screen?

What kind of calibrator did you use, and what targets?
