Elk on the Coast

Up at Fern Canyon the Elk will let you walk up within 5' of them. I still kept a bit of distance, but was able to snap a few neat shots. Here is one of them.

Yes, only 53mm for that pic. It was a bummer as I did not plan to encounter such a beautiful animal on my hike, so I brought my mediocre lens with me.

There were at least a dozen wondering around, this one was further inland, so I didn't have to walk as far.

And you caught him with his mouth full. Nice shot, he's a beauty.
