28-135 IS Noise

I just got the 7D w/ the 28-135 IS kit. Just for the heck of it I played around with the lens even though im selling it and never used Canon's IS system. It sounds like its grinding, i don't know if this is normal but im sure my old Nikon 55-200 VR wasn't this noticable.

I had the 28-135. The IS made a faint noise - nothing like what you describe.

O well maybe it's normal because I am not use to hearing IS so this 'noise' is a lot louder than silence :)

I had a 28-135 and it "grinded" a little when the IS was on...very faint though...
