Photoshop CS4 Keeps Crashing?

Im using Photoshop CS4.
When I got to File, Open, then Computer, CS4 hangs for a while then crashes.
This only happens when I go to "Computer" for a file.
To make CS4 work, I have to go to the picture and right click, Open With, then select Photoshop CS4.
This always work fine.
Any help?

Do you have one of the office products installed. I had a similar problem under XP Pro if I clicked in the drop down to change drive letters it would spin for a very long time. The solution for me was to go to my computer to change drive letters.

I also recently ran into a problem where I had a problem with CS4 saying it could not complete whatever I was trying at the time due to a program error. The fix for this was to remove any fax software and to set the default printer to a post script printer. It is doubtful that you have a post script printer but you can go to http://www.adobe.com …sp?ftpID=1500&f​ileID=1438 and install this and set it as your default printer. Very weird but it worked.

I dont get any error messages.
Just a lag, then crash.
I have Office 2007 installed.

Have you got a network printer installed?

I have had the same issue if my default printer was a network printer, now i have set the default printer to be a PDF printer and it works fine

I tried that now, but it still crashed.

Problem Solved
Regretfully I had to uninstall it and reinstall.
Too bad there isnt a repair option.
Working fine now.

2gb of ram... *shudders*
