Hi all!
Im looking to buy a new body but would like some recomendations... I currently have a xti and use mainly my canon 50mm f1.4 and my canon 17-85 f4-5.6 is.. I really like the look of the xsi or the t1.. What do yall think? My budget is going to keep me in the rebel series probably... I really like the noise reduction in the xsi... Please just let me know what you think!

Thanks a ton...

Jason

No need to get the T1i unless you want the video IMO. I don't know the xti but I used to have the xsi and it was an awesome camera.

Why do you think you need another body? Unless you want video, there is little to be gained by "upgrading" to another rebel camera. Learn to shoot in RAW and noise won't be a big issue anymore. Save your money!

Does your budget allow you to sell the XTi and add that to your funds to land a lightly used 40D, for example? That might be a very worthwhile move, and I would expect that for between $300 and $400 in cash plus the sale of the XTi, you could make this move.

Trust me, you will find a use for it. I had the 7D for about 4 days, and something came up with our 1 year that the resulting video was priceless. (never mind that I inadvertantly deleted the video along with some test shots )

Never say never...

If you don't need video I'd go 40D cause of your budget. Try them out at the store and see which one you like!

You mean learn how to process RAW files.

Just use some software to recover what you deleted. Unless you already overwrote them that is.

If you want to stay in the Rebel line and want to purchase a new unit, I highly suggest the XSi....great camera, great features, great quality images. If you don't need video, no need to spend for the T1i.

But, if you are willing to buy used, look into a 40D. They can be had slightly used in good condition for about the same as a new XSi kit.

Yeah, I tried. What I received from the recovered file was a 562M file (it was a long video), and when I tried to run in QT, all I got was one of my moon shots and the movie wouldn't play. So it was corrupted already. :(

If it were me I'd... Pick up another XTi, buy a copy or Neat Image noise reduction software, and get some more quality lenses.
