He also said that even if they get some, there has been no promise as to how many they wil get. I know this doesn't really help all you Camera Store fans, but que cera, cera! Who knows, the way this businees runs in this city (Calgary) they could get 6 in on Monday, or nothing until mid-November - go figure.

It would be $1287 from The Camera Store ordering out of province with only 5% GST. B&H will have it to you by Wednesday, or Tuesday for $10 more. Why wait? Oct 10, 2009 10:30 | #8 for $10 I'll always buy locally (10% actually). I have one on order from Saneal, where I buy most my stuff, they just don't know when to expect it. Thanks for your replies guys. Regards, Len B

Oct 13, 2009 12:57 | #10 Yeah, I've done the dance with The Camera Store before. (5DII, 200mmF2 etc), They would never tell me where in line I stood, or when I might expect my ordered (often pre-paid or at least a deposit) gear. They think they have no competition and their prices are the best. They are wrong. Regards, Len B

Not their fault, I guess. "My fellow Americans, these are not the droids the nation is looking for."

Didn't mean to blow you off ddong with no reply. I do appreciate your feedback, and didn't know about Saneal's no return policy. You are correct, I read it on the wall when I picked up the lens a few minutes ago. I will consider that in the future if buying something that I might someday need to return. Haven't had to so far though. It is nice dealing at a shop that knows your name and needs. I'm considering the 28/300L and they'll call me when the two on order come in. Regards, Len B

Kasrielle Goldmember More info | Oct 14, 2009 13:06 | #15 I ordered one from my local tiny shop - Canon Canada has a deal on for October for her and she gave me a price of $1195. And I have 3 months to pay for it! I hardly buy anything locally bacause she can't compete on price - but this was too good to pass up and I can feel good about buying locally...
