This is perhaps a different sort of image than normally get posted here, but I was curious to see what people would think of it. If it doesn't work, please say so, but try to explain why. I have been noodling with processing to keep things creative and fresh, but my feelings won't be hurt if you don't like it!

For me....it doesn't work. Too bluish/green for my taste. I do like the "openess" of the image and the environment and would consider a B/W conversion....when I have a bird looking away from me and into the environment I always think B/W for some reason.

Just my thoughts. It's good to be creative...keeps you on your toes. ;)

I don't think that color tone works for this shot.

My preferences lean towards mirroring reality. The color, tone, light, everything of the scene, to share the scene with those who never get the chance to see the same thing. So it doesn't work for me.

Now why does viewing my 100th shot of a great blue standing in scummy water float my boat? I have no idea, but it does. :)

Yeah, that's how I shoot a lot of the time... but sometimes you gotta try something else.

Another shot from the same day (more "normally" processed):

Okay, here's one vote for the other side: I like it. It's clearly not a mirror of reality, but it does create a cool mood.

I'm still trying to actually mirror reality. Maybe once I get good enough to accomplish it, I can play around with other views. :)

And here's the original, just for the sake of comparison:

Again...I think it's great to mess around with images in PS...it's the best way to learn new things but I really like the original image you just posted.

I prefer the original, still captures the solitude for me.
