How good is this lens? Does anyone have one? I would like to see some photos
taken with it.

I just picked up this lense. Here is a picture I took of my Grand-daughter with it.

So far I have been very happy with this lense. I love the Image Stabilizer and the USM Functions on it.

Fantastic lens for wandering around at night:
I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago with my 300D. I took this hand held at about 1/4 second as you can see from the car light trails.

I agree, this is a very nice lens. Especially for hand held travel photography. I will say that sometimes, I find myself wanting more though. The other thing to remember is that this lens will not be optimal if you ever decide to go to a body with a full frame sensor.

Everything about the build and performance of this lens appealed to me, but for $600 it would only fit my Drebel and for that kind of cash I'd rather have glass to fit my Elan 7N film and full frame sensors down the road.

As such I ended up getting the Sigma 18-125mm DC, it's build was good enough, with good performance and priced very low IMO, (I paid $260 at the time) I could live with selling this lens and the Drebel one day if full frame DSLR's ever enter the realm of consumer affordable.

I would have jumped on this lens in seconds had it been an EF for the same price. I just don't yet trust having a shelf of EF-S glass at current EF-S glass prices.

awesome travel lens as it has a very good range, got it with my 20D kit. Used it for 2 weeks in Italy and only wished I had another lens once.
