I just fulfilled one of the two items on my wish list, I got myself the Kenko tube set! I know they aren't really lenses, but close enough for the lens section.

I thought I would post some sample photos for anyone else debating on getting them. Definitely scratched my itch for macro without breaking the bank!

I didnt think it was possible, but I have been using the 12, 20 and 36mm stacked on my 50 1.8 and it is amazing. I have yet to try them on my 70-200 F4 IS, but I will soon.

So anyway, thanks for all the good info on this forum that lead me to an awesome purchase!

Comments welcome

Nice, I love the first picture. I'm a fan of Kenko tubes. Had my set for a couple of years now.

Nice. I've thought about getting a set, but then haven't purchased or even looked for any...

Might just go check eBay now :)

if you do consider buying a set of tubes, consider EBAY. I found a full Kenko set for about $95 shipped (maybe 2 yrs ago). It was the cheapest deal in town, or make that outta town - like Hong Kong.

If you go that route and you have a crop camera, be careful that the tubes can be put on the EF-S mount. Some of the older Kenko tubes are EF only I believe.

Crop camera's (the 1.6x crop not the 1D) accept EF-S and EF mounted lenses. The kit lens with the new 7D is the 28-135 which is an EF mount (not an EF-S). I don't think there's an issue here unless I'm missing something.
