I've never taken shots like these before and any comments you have would be helpful. Mainly I wasn't sure if I should have used a slow shutter speed to get some blur or if freezing them in mid-jump worked better? The one's with a slow shutter are just blurred out of all recognition.

Your comments would be helpful for future occasions.

Regards
David

Peter.

Thanks everyone for the comments,
PeterC, I must get used to using this camera for action shots and do some reading-up on how to set it when using RAW as I don't like JPG's and if I use the sports setting that's what I get.

Thanks again
Cheers
David

I like them as they are.

If I wanted some motion, I'd cheat and add it in PS. :D

Ooh, please get away from that sports setting. Use AV(get your aperture as wide open as possible). You are at F/8. You get can much bigger than that ensuring even stronger stop action and it also should allow you to shoot at a lower ISO(the less the better, of course).

Grego,
Thanks for the info - will give the AV setting whirl the next chance I get.

If you want blur, but some recognition of subject. You could try panning. Get square on and as they leap pan the shot.
