I've finally stopped cursing Adobe for inexplicably not having a feature to place a watermark of my design on the picture where I want it during export.

So I downloaded this 'LR2Mogrify' software from the web which is a plugin to LR. The problem is that it isn't working right.

Anybody have experience with this thing? Here are the problems I'm having:

1. Once I activiate the plugin I cannot save the exports anywhere but in the same folder as original. If I select anything else the exporter runs but the images never show up. Poof! Gone.

2. Bigger problem, LR2Mogrify will do some things like adding borders and stuff but the one thing I want it for - adding a watermark in text simply doesn't happen. I fill it in, set everything to run but the output file simply has no watermark.

I'm losing my mind here. Anyone adding watermarks in LR?

I've been using LR/Mogrify and then LR2/Mogrify since they were introduced and except for version 4.11 I haven't experienced any such problems.

To add a watermark you need to prepare a graphic then point LR2/Mogrify to it. Here's an example...I created a logo in Adobe Illustrator, saved a version as a png file then linked Mogrify to it. Its not as subtle as I normally place it since this is simply an illustration. Both the logo and borders were added with LR2/Mogrify.

Thanks,

They actually responded to an e-mail pretty quick and helped me out. It turns out that the fix was quite simple, but since I started this thread I'll post it up here.

1. The images I was dumping on the desktop just needed a refresh to appear. LR alone didn't need that which led to my confusion.

2. Not all fonts available in the list from LR2Mogrify are really supported, and selecting one that is not supported results in no watermark appearing (using a text mark and not an image mark).

Hi

I just recently installed Mogrify, and before I used Elements to add a banner and webadress, now it is automatic on export with Mogrify. Love it.

ok...what you wanted was a text annotation not a watermark. As far as I'm aware only TrueType fonts can be used for annotations.

Is it true w/ the plug ins and watermark you will get a boarder on the images?? I just like to add watermark on my images without any boarders... is that possible?

Thanks!

You don't have to add a border. Mogrify can add borders and text, or not. You decide.

I think that LR3 has improved the watermark add feature. I have not looked at the Beta, anyone try messing with watermark in LR3B and know how much more flexible it is now? Or is it in the Beta release?

It's good. But still not as good as Mogrify.

That's a riot. Love it!!

Ps. I've been using LR, well, since beta, and it's a great tool. I too had used CS at times just to add borders or a logo, that was until I discovered Mogrify. I still have some learning to do with respect to putting the logo in correctly but the bordering tool is great. I've tried LR3/Beta and Mogrify still has it beat.

Anyone have a great tutorial for adding logos using LR2/Mogrify???
