Spring Creek Motocross in Millville, MN. (external link)

Today was the last race of the year, although it was also the first race of the 2010 season. It was a frosty morning and pretty cold until about 10am. Never did warm up either. Still, the show must go on. Even if it is from a different perspective.

HAHA, yes, I saw the rip when I processed it, but then, one guy showed up in his spotted pajamas so a little fart rip is nothing. :)

I don't really know if the color coding means anything. I also know very little about the classes of racers or what pics are from what race today. These are all full frame and I was using a Sigma 105 Macro lens, so you can imagine how close I was. They were way over my head and from several different races during the day.

Black/white plates are normally A class riders, yellow plates are B class riders, and C class guys run what they brung most of the time. A Class would be your pro/ams, B class are your intermediate riders that are a little slower (normally) then the A class guys, and C class is the Jr Class, normally C class would likely be the larger of all the classes.

You can have "pro" black/white plates and still be an amateur. Meaning you are fast enough and have scored enough points to be bumped out of B. But you pay your own way, or with some help from some sponsors.

While I haven't been to enough races to pick up the details yet, there was a definite difference in the bikes and the skill of the riders. Some of the bikes especially, sounded different, like 4 strokes, more powerful and definitely faster. Some of the riders were different also, in the speed they rode and the height of their jumps. All in all, it was an adrenalin day. :)
