The L.A. Shooters held it's semi monthly shoot out at the old race track during the morning practice. Mainly to practice panning. I used my 135mm f2L and 400mm f5.6L sometimes going as slow as 1/30 secs to blur out the background.

Here are the shots from the day.
1. Early morning.

Thanks all. I hate getting up early but the early light is nice in the fall.

I'd say the 5th and 7th are the strongest images. The first one reminds me of the old West.

Fantastic! The panning ones are really good. I'm curious-- did you try any panning any so that the slope of the was slanted down to the right? Personally I think that while tilts the subject a little too much, it also would increase the feel of speed because it would seem like they're running downhill in stead of up. Either way, great job.

Thanks for the suggestion. My personal preference is to have them run uphill. Not sure why, I guess it makes it feel more like they are working even harder by running uphill.
