I'm not sure i can see what you are going for in the images.

What doesn't work for you? To plain, no interest? My perspective was the juxtaposition of a significant amount of snow on flowers in full bloom... sort of a rarity. What would you do to make them better?

OK i get it! the comparison is good. I didn't realize you were going for that, the title suggested you were going JUST for the snow, thats why i couldn't understand why you didn't get more background.
The more i look at them the more im kinda liking them. I think i didn't give them enough of a chance the first time either.
I like the 4rth and 5th.
The last one seem a bit to washed out for me. the bottem starts out good, but as it goes up it kinda turns into a white blob with not detail.

That was a pretty extreme edit of the last one... maybe I'll play with it some more tonight. Thank you for the feedback.

I really like #2-4. These are beautiful shots in my eyes. The others the flowers are too small or there isn't enough color to keep my attention. I like the different perspective here though.

Thanks. Those are all full crops so maybe I can tighten up the ones with the smaller flowers.

I really liked #6, the pine branch with the snow. I will need to try that when our snow arrives in a month or so.

The shots of the flowers hurt my eyes to look at. Not sure if it was my monitor or my eyes, but I found them difficult to look at, especially the first three.

I think some pics are a touch overexposed, with the last one being a bit too bright. I think the last one would look nice at about -1 to -1 2/3 what you shot, though -- nice series!

How are these edits? I darkened a few of them up and cropped a couple differently.

On my monitor they seem too bright, they are interesting none-the-less.

Personally I would say the flowers are to small for the image.

The flowers are the main subject yet they only take up a small area in the image. You can try cropping but really you do need to get as close as the lens will allow you to when shooting. Try to do the work with the camera not with the computer.

My other comment is choice of background, I would chose something that that adds more contrast to the main subject. I know its probably harder because everything is white with snow but try different angle are even add you own back drop with coat, or an old blanket or cloth.

I like the image of the Pine tree branch its just a pity that the end of it is lost with the background being the same colour, or a near as damn it.

Hope this was of use.

Ed

I actually like the solitariness of the last four images (particularly the second- and third-to-last).

I like the photo's. I didn't like the snow that day though :-) (I'm assuming you're from Iowa too by your screen name). My son's baseball game got postponed due to the cold and wet field from the snow. Only a couple games left to try and get in.
