More Arkansas Elk

Had quite a day yesterday. Captured near 500 images. Here are a few of my favorites........

These are gorgeous. I really didn't realize that Arkansas had elk. Are they in a protected area or do they just run wild? He looks like a 14 point. Nice pics.

They run wild, but are protected. They know they can't get hurt by humans, so they are like cattle in a field in the mornings and evening. Quite beautiful creatures.

I've got some acreage in Madison County, not far from you and, WOW, I've never seen elk like that around here! I wish they'd come run around on my place.

If Wilson Combat, I went to school with a guy that I believe his parents ran it. He of course works there now. Not sure what he does. He was a Wilson.

These are on Hwy 43, in Newton County, near the ponca access. Actually if you know where Lost Valley is, it was at that elk viewing area right there. I have been down there many many times, and this was the only time I have ever seen elk at the elk viewing site. Everyone there that day around me were commenting on that too. If you want to see the elk though, they are all up and down Hwy 43 from Ponca, to the 21 Jct usually. Mainly in the morning just after first light, and evening just before dark.

I can tell you for a fact there are a lot of strange things in those mountains, and probably most of them are mating!

A couple of my aunts have around 150 acres in Madison county. Just east of Aurora, south of hwy 74.

Yes thats some mighty nice shots of the Elks ! I also didn't know they were there . Was it Arkansas , Tennessee or Georgia where the TimberWolf was re-introduced in that area a few years back ?? I know they range up to Minnesota from the Rocky Mountain area but i remember hearing a few years back of farmers complaining they would kill their livestock but haven't heard anymore lately .
