I got another chance to shoot our local high school football team playing again at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Last time I shot there last month the roof was open and the highlights/shadows made it very tough to shoot. This time the roof was closed, which necessitated a higher ISO, but at least the light was very even.

Very nice! And yes, the consitent lighting produced pretty consistent results. Is #3 a catch or an interception by the red uniformed player? Very nice catch (by the camera guy!) there.

It's a catch by the guy in red (#23). #23 was second in the state of Indiana last year in the 400m dash in track and has had several spectacular catches like that this year. The guy is unbelievable. Here's a few more from that sequence:

Did you notice you took a picture of yourself? Check out the jumbotron on the coin toss shot! Nice work! I also like when the pellets spray up.

I cannot tell you how great #1 is. If I were a HS Senior, that would be framed (16x20) on my wall! Awesome shot in all perspectives.

Thanks a lot! Actually that is not me in the yellow shirt on the jumbotron. I'm just to his right and just out of the picture. I was wearing a Think Tank belt with several lens skin pouches, which yellow shirt guy does not have (plus I wasn't even wearing a yellow shirt!). Also if you look close, his eye is not up at the viewfinder of the camera, whereas mine would have been when taking the picture. I'm also not the guy in the dark shirt just behind #74. I'll have to look through my other pics and see if I did manage to show up on the jumbotron.

I also love the rubber pellet spray, it really gives the impression of motion & action in the photo.
