I got a few images of some nice trains and thought I would share.

BNSF under a great sky,

This was a scale engine meet where the trains run on 7 1/2 inch track. But they do haul passengers so I figure they count as transportation.
The first train and this one have gasoline engines in them that drive hydraulic motors on each axle. They are absolutely beautiful and the detail is amazing.

Some were coal burning steam engines like this one.

And some used propane to fire the boiler on their steam engine.

Then there was the bare bones, basic coal burner. But hey, it had enough power to pull the engineer and the cooler. What else do you need?

Thanks for the comments. I had lots of fun taking them. I spent most of the days just watching in awe of these power-house little trains. I guess this is a big deal across the country but this is the first time that I have ever seen them. This track layout has about 2 miles of track and is in the very large backyard of one of the club members. The owner of the first two engines pictured just returned from taking his trains to a big meet out in Oregon. They have 13 plus miles of track at Train Mountain. I saw some images of his train in the gallery for that meet.

Very nice. I saw the first picture and thought "something looks a little off with that diesel..." only to scroll down and realize what was going on! hah.

those BNSF diesels, are they 1.5" guage? I was on some site yesterday that had 2 NS dash 9's powered buy a diesel engine. Things were amazing looking and sounding with the sound system in it. Even teh diesel engine for the hydraulics sounded good.
