I have just changed the settings on my A720 so that the exposure metering measures the same spot as the focus.

It's my normal practice to depress the shutter button halfway to achieve focus, hold it halfway down, quickly re-compose, then continue fully depressing the shutter.

In this new setting, does the light meter measure the "spot"exposure, and HOLD IT, when I re-compose?

Thanks in advance, del Sol

Thanks,

I tried you (lamp) suggestion, and it worked......perfectly!

FWIW, I find the A720IS to be a wonderful little P&S. 8mp, 6X zoom, with an optical viewfinder, small, with big camera results.

Now that it's "tuned" to my shooting style, I can't wait to set off on my little 6 month Costa Rican trip....with no cellphone, laptop, pager, or other devices-from-hell!

Cheers from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

del Sol
