I have scoured the net to no avail. I cannot find a picture of all the buttons on the new BG-E7 grip. Could anyone who has the pleasure of owning this possibly post a picture?

I will get mine soon enough (I guess) but I'd really like to see what buttons have been added.

Thanks and enjoy that new camera!

Compared to the grip for the xxD series, they added the AF-On button and the m-fn button. Both are in teh same positions as their counterparts on the camera body.

What exactly does the m.fun button do? I miss the AF-on button on the BG-E2 on a 40D.

It cycles through the AF point modes, depending on which you have set (Zone, Single point, Spot AF) etc.

No doubt it also does other magical things i am yet to discover :D

The multi-function button can be configured to have a few different functions. I think I have mine set to display the electronic level in the viewfinder.
It's also used when changing AF mode (i.e. from single point to zone).

I don't think I can get better quality pictures than that of Canon marketing department (or DPreview). So I'm sure you can dig up some high quality photos of the grip that way.

That said, it's certainly different from the BG-E2N on the 40D. I use to always have just the tiniest amount of "play" (wiggle) on the grip. This is not the case with the BG-E7. It's more snug, not to mention the contours blend in better. And it's got both the M-Fn & AF-ON buttons.

The only thing I would nit-pick is the shutter is ULTRA sensitive on my vertical grip. The range between half-press (for focus acquisition) vs. shutter activation is quite narrow. Might take a while to get used to. But for those who normally focuses with the AF-ON button anyway, this won't be an issue.

Yeah, I noticed this too. In fact, I thought the grip shutter button was broken (I thought it was missing the "half-press"). So I had to double check it. Then I went back to the regular shutter button and did notice it took more effort than the grip shutter.

Therein lies the problem sir. I have searched Canon and DPReview and could find pictures of the grip itself, but none that shows the button layout. It is only my curiosity wanting to see the difference, and if no one posts a shot, I am sure I will order it right along with the camera anyway when it becomes more available.

1. As I already said, the button layout is just like on the camera.
2. There's a lot more on the web than just those two sites.
3. Look harder. Perhaps starting with DPReview's "7D Preview" article.

Battery marking as per Canon's suggestion.

Thank you very much! Nice picture - exactly what I was looking for. And all the way from Sweden too! :D

Enjoy that new rig!

The globe is only a few mouseclicks big!

Although it certainly didn't feel like that two days ago, when I flew from Boston, MA, to Amsterdam...

Hey, I just noticed the hood for your 24-105 is different from what I have... Which one is that?

Thanks.
