Loyalty Rebate Program announced

Canon announced their Loyalty Rebate Program - effective today for PowerShot and EOS Camera's. Form attached.

That and the fact, they raised prices by about 15% a while back..

No savings, just a teaser come-on... And if you don`t do everything just right, the rebate will be denied.:p

I didn't register the S90 yet, though (still in box!), so I suppose that's out of the question. But I do have two other cameras...]

I'm hoping this isn't in place of their Fall instant-rebates!!

I just realized that this is kind of crappy. It took me a while to actually understand the point: if you bought a Canon in the past AND buy and register a new one between 10/12 and 12/31, you qualify for either $20 or $50 MIR. (I'm a little slow!)

So ultimately, I only bought one new camera, it was before 10/12, and so I don't qualify, even though this is my fifth Canon camera. Harumph.

The important thing is to note that BOTH the OLD and NEW cameras must get registered. Seems like they're catching on to folks that might buy something and then sell it to someone else before the year is up and allowing the 2nd purchaser to be able to register the product if an issue comes up.
