Hey. I know 50mm is usually meant for full body shots, but a 50mm gives an effective focal length of about 80mm on my 1.6x crop body. Perspective is determined by distance to subject, and focal length is simply used to determine if you can "fill the frame".
This is a shot of my little sister with my 50/1.8, full frame just resized and compressed for web. It looks slightly... distorted. She has a really round head, hahaha... but should I be saving up for an 85mm to give me the 136mm length?
Playing with my zoom, I found that I really love the 105mm length... which gives me an effective 168mm. Maybe I'll just find a prime around 100mm?
