A couple of photos for C&C please. Shot these the past weekend at the Columbus Day tournament.

Please let me know what you think of the photos. These were shot on an overcast Saturday. I used a grey card for WB and set it to the grey card for custom WB.

I feel as though this has greatly helped get a better WB and I don't have much to work on WB wise when I do post work.

Any constructive crits are welcome.

Thanks

Scott

I wish I knew why my photos are not as sharp when I post them on the forums. They look fine on my monitor here in the office and at work.

Argh, this is so frustrating for me!

Great shots! What shutter speed are you using?

The first one was shot at 1/1000, f4, iso 400, 150mm.
The second one was shot at at the same settings.

It was cloudy, hence the iso 400. And these are crops. But even so they do not look sharp when I put them up on POTN to me.

You've got some serious compression artifacts going on there.

Colors and exposures look good. It looks like you were standing when you shot these. If so, at this age you should be ideally sitting on the ground or at most kneeling or using a very short stool.

Good capture of action with the ball. I am always amazed at soccer shots with no ball.

+1. I think you will be happy with the results from that. You get more eyes. You will find the same as they get older too.

You caught the tongue working!
That's a good thing.

I was moving around a lot during the game and snapped these from the sidelines. Most of the time I am shooting low.

These I wanted to grab because it was my little guy.

How can I avoid the compression issues when I am uploading the photos, other peoples images are crisp and clear, but I feel like mine look like mud after I upload. Any suggestions for this are appreciated.

I have a flickr account and recently started to embed the 1024 version.
They look great.
Back when I was uploading I had the same problems you do because of the intense size restrictions.

I just created a flickr account. Let me know what think of this image. And I will add the other two for review later after lunch.
