Bo + Esther

I offered to take pictures of my friends Bo and Esther. They arn't getting married anytime soon or anything like that. It's just to give me experience for future engagement sessions. I'd love it if you ripped me a new one. I love the criticism. Thanks and enjoy.

Try not to tell me which one you like the most. That doesn't help me get any better. Please tell me how it could be improved.

The horizons tilt slightly to the right in all but the last pic, I believe. You squeezing that shutter too hard?!!! Or, maybe you wanted them that way.

Also, I would have cropped out the 'extras' in #2.

#1 re-crop to straighten it out.
#2 crop to get rid of the extras on the right frame
#3 you blew his cheeks, dial the exposure back down.
#4 either blow out the background for hi-key look, or keep it in, don't leave in the middle.
#5 good shot, but you blew their faces again.
#6 & 7 are good, but pee-color processing is not my thing, just personal taste
#8 neat concept, but poorly executed, their faces got lost with crap in the background.

Next time, if you know you'll be shooting without extra lights in harsh light, tell them to wear something lighter. Black on black can be very nice if you balance it right, apparently not in this case.
