Just interested in hearing what you shoot with this particular lens...

I don't have it but will be getting it at the end of the month.

To me, it's like everyday situation - my friends at work, my food, my family, and etc. As manys mention, it's walk-around lens. :)

Just about everything right now except low light. Probably my best/most used walk around lens.
Lots of pros/cons in the threads, but I find the f/4 not to be slow for normal daytime use, great with flash indoors and at night. Unless you need more reach or wider angles, this is a pretty good lens. Are you crop of FF? - that could change my answer slightly.
Cheers,
John

Pretty much everything. It is the lens that stays on my camera the most. I find it extremely versatile and actually fun to use. You will like it.

crop... I have a 50D

I was figuring I would replace my 17-85 with it. I dont use the wide side. Im normally 50+ and I want a tad more reach then 85 can get me. The f4 should be fine, because Im shooting the occasional day time childrens football game.

I shot landscape a lot when I had it. A lot of family photos as well.

It was my vacation lens. If I had to limit to just one lens, the 24-105 was it. It is the jack-of-all-trades lens.

Only problem is it also the master-of-none lens as well.

All purpose from walk around to portraits. Even some landscape on the wide side once in a while.

As many have said it is my "walk arround lens".

It stays on my 5D almost full time. Most of the shots in my flickr were taken with it.

It is my first travel lens. It is the best "all rounder" i have, and if i can only take the one lens with me for the day this is my first pick. If know exactly what i set out to photog, then I pick the lens best suited, but this is not always possible (I travel a lot throughout Asia).

Guys.
How do you find shooting landscapes at 24 ? Do you think that is wide enough.
If anyone has some sample landscape shots from this lens, could they post a few.

Thanks

Everything outdoors, Very Very few occasions i've found it isn't wide enough on a crop but doesn't happen that often.

Indoors is another story however.

For me, on the 5D II, I shoot studio portraits with the 24-105 (at f8 or f11) and I use it for walk around, general purpose, etc. As others have said, it is a very versatile lens for portraits, landscapes, just about anything except indoor sports or where a very fast aperture is needed..
