As always C&C is always welcome (except for crop comments - yes I know they can be cropped tighter. :-) )

This was actually a test, I wasn't covering the game. Testing out 1Ds Mark II + 135 f/2 which turned out to be a very nice combo. 3 fps is a bit of a limitation but I'm happy with the results.

P.S. Just previewing and the previews don't seem to be right, they have a small greenish tint for some reason that when I look at them in the browser on my desktop doesn't show up. I'll have to see what's up with that. Damn jpegs.

nice shots. is there something different from the first two photos? and i think you may have missed focus on the last photo unless you meant to get the middle more in focus than the outside. btw, who is the setter? 1? Anyways, I like the action you caught on here. to me it looks a little dark, like the ball can be a bit brighter cause the whites on that are pretty dark and the only thing white white are the jerseys. but that's on my screen. not sure how it is on others.

So where were you positioned? In the stands? Nice photos, great expressions after the spike! I have always wanted to try some volleyball. Can you use flash?

+1 to this comment. Aram, most of the issues could be corrected with some post work. I think at 1600 these would look a little better but 1/3 is nothing in post if you have to. tough sport to shoot as I learned. hopefully Jeff fared better than I.

Hmmm, I think the SS was a bit different compared from the first 2 to the last 4, that's about it. You're absolutely right on the last one, she's slightly out of focus so I can fix that in PS using high filter pass.

Yeah #1 is their starter setter. This is her. Very powerful girl. They're on a 8 game winning streak I believe now.

Yeah, DNG->JPEG took about 1/3 of light out of them it seems. I'll have to fix that.

Yeah I was sitting on the visitors side, which meat the referee's assistant was in 3/4 of my shots - very annoying - but I didn't want to get in the way of the official guy by taking his spots. You can actually see him sitting on the opposite side on the 1st level benches for some shots. He was going from back of net to side. I basically sat on my butt the entire game and didn't move. Next week when I am covering the game, I'm going to do the same thing just sit on the opposite side so I don't have to worry about the ref standing in my shots.

I'm not allowed to use flash anywhere for any of the games, inside or outside. Which sucks at times.

Everyone else ... good comments. Thank you very much for the feedback. I'll add some more exposure to these.
