Great price. Amazon is ~$100 more. Most of the used one has been going for around $450-500.

I signed up for Newegg auto notification when I thinking about getting a macro lens. Well, I decided to save some money and got extension tubes instead. Anyway, I thought someone on the forum can benefit.

Not that it's big, but don't forget the bing cashback for a few more dollars off. :)

I had set up a "Notify Me" request for this lens months ago, and quite honestly forgot about it. But lo and behold, at 11:00 PM last night I got the email that it was in stock. I really expected that Newegg would have updated their price to match the current prices Canon has raised it to ($649), but I was shocked to see that they have it still listed as the OLD price. Without pause, I whipped out my CC and placed the order. USED 100mm macro lenses are going for more in the POTN B&S forum than this thing brand new. Until I have got the magic "shipping notice" email, I won't believe that I got it at that price. Something keeps telling me that they'll figure it out before they ship.

At some point Newegg is going to realize their pricing mistake. They have it priced $150 less that what the current market price.

I was starting to worry. I read your post, but I have not received any emails from them indicating that it has shipped. So I logged on to Newegg's site, and was very happy to see that my order status was "Shipped", and price was still the $479 price. I'm very happy, to say the least :)

I was on the fence about buying another prime so I couldn't resist. I did own this one before but sold only to regret the move. Tack sharp with a macro bonus. Now to create a Newegg wish list and wait for an email.
