I might just have to do this.. I used rubber bands and a Petal hood reversed..Thanks! make sure and NOT use super glue. A friend of mine done that and it caused a gas, or cloudy substance in between the UV filter and the welding glass. Friends call me Jay!

I'm not sure why there would be a chemical reaction with superglue and the welding filter to cause gas to be as a by-product. When my 82mm filter comes in, I'm going to use gorilla glue to attach the filter to the cokin holder. Flickr

Super-glue releases a vapor which settles and leaves a white residue if there's nowhere for it to escape to. "Treat every photon with respect" - David Malin.

Not only do cyanoacrylate glue produce fumes that reacts with moisture and fogs surfaces if not used in a well-ventilated surrounding (which the cavity between UV filter and welding glass does not form). Standard CA glue also bonds badly with glass (a light tap can break the bond), so any use on glass requires special glue with additional chemicals. 5DMk2 + BG-E6 | 40D + BG-E2N | 350D + BG-E3 + RC-1 | Elan 7E | Minolta Dimage 7U | (Gear thread)

Was planning to use the hotglue and tape method, but other inexpensive options merit investigating. Works perfect! Just don't use a large amount. Remember, you're talking about only thousandths of an inch gap to fill. It just takes a little to hold the glass to the ring. Make sure you put it ALL the way around, not just at certain points. After it has set up, (overnight) you can carefully use something like a pointed exacto knife to cut the excess loose and peel it away. Use a soft cotton cloth to wipe it clean, as silicone can leave an oily type residue. You only need to worry about the inside of the ring, don't worry about the outer part.

I just picked up a step up ring that away there is no addition IQ lost.
