Q. Is the best method to focus with the glass off then flick lens to manual and attach glass then shoot?
Had a little play indoors pointing at a light source but camera cannot focus.

Currently have Canon EOS 40D, 7D, 7D mkii

Thats the method I use on my 20D, I have heard that newer cameras can focus with the glass in place using live view
