What about trying different varieties of stained glass sheets from Hobby Lobby or a stained glass store?

Not sure they have the same light-reducing properties, plus most people want rid of the funky colouring :D
Worth a try though, give it a go and post into another thread with your results, there's no harm in trying :)

Was on vacation and remembered this thread. I spent $5.96 for this filter, and here's my pro setup. These are strings from a giftbag :D. Thanks for the cool idea!

Hmm, that's an odd one? Does it do it to each image in exactly the same way?

I can't remember now. Most of them were so bad I just deleted them. I did clean the glass, but maybe it needs more cleaning, it has some sort of scum on it from being in the bag for years probably.

^ move your tint to +150

also, use a steadier tripod to reduce the blurred images.

I did move the tint and did Auto Color and Levels. I didn't waste much time on the color though, with the OOF problem.

One thing i've noticed about this filter is that if you don't have a completely sealed off filter holder, the post processing cannot save the final image from the dreaded green tinge.

Great! Apart from the dreaded light leak it looks like it did well :)

Really? I have not found so. Light leaks ruin the image but I haven't found them any harder to process.

What is this?? Looks really cool but I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

Crater (Hama-something) in Volcano National Park (Big Island, Hawaii). It is essentially a cloud factory, creating 'vog' or volcano-fog from sulfur. Parts of the island haven't been this hazy for quite a while, but this is active and quite cool to watch. I didn't have as much time as I wanted for a timelapse I was making, but I have ~100ish frames, and it's interesting to watch it in sequence! Not quite as cool as that E-named volcano area, however.

Here's a normal pic of it from a typical angle:

Thanks!! I had one that was less light-leaked, but I didn't like it as much =).

Thanks. I thought a crater maybe, but my brain kept going back to whirlpools out in the ocean, sucking pirate ships down to a watery grave. A whirlpool would be cool :)
