This might be a stupid question, but how do I import videos off my CF card? I previously used Lightroom exclusively which is only for photos.

Also, where can I find DPP? My Mac is ejecting both CDs that came with the 7D.. <roll eyes>

I hate to say it, but doesn't everything "just work" with a Mac? ;)

(Sorry, I couldn't resist - I don't know how many times I've seen people making fun of Windows and saying that their Macs "just work" without any problems.)

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

Can't you plug in your USB cable and transfer it that way? (I don't know Mac's much so maybe I'm over simplifying things.)

I just have a card-reader installed on my desktop and I just take the CF card out, plug it in, and voila... easy access to everything and anything.

Off-Topic: Hurray for PC! ;)

Zoombrowser...comes with the software.

I use a Mac at school and a PC at home. Sometimes the Mac can be quirky with .MOV files.

It probably does, I'm just not sure which software I'm supposed to use as Lightroom is for photos, not videos.

I did a manual directory listing of the CF card and I'm not seeing any video files.. I'm doing something wrong..

Okay, I figured it out. The LiveView knob was set to photo instead of video. (Page 149 of the manual).

My Mac imported the photos just fine..

Where can I download DPP? I'd like to see if the pictures look better from the 7D compared to Lightroom (beta filter).

Going back to your original post, you weren't able to get your Mac to read the Canon installation CD for Macs?

Correct. When I insert the CD my system scans it and then ejects it. I'm using a 15'' MacBook Pro, for what it's worth.

There is a green CD named "Software INSTRUCTION MANUAL" and a red CD named "How to Use Camera Accessories".

I'm able to read the CDs on my desktop PC.. These disks just have documentation on them.. No install software.

When I look at the download site for the 7D I don't see anything listed either:

Where can I find DPP?

Thanks

You should also have an "EOS Digital Solution Disk" that has the software on it.

Try telling me that.. I found it pretty hard getting photo's off my camera today when the G5 Powermac died.

Anyway OP, can't you just copy the files out of explorer?

To download the videos, just connect your camera and open Image Capture (it may even open automatically if you have it set so) ... download your movies straight from there!

It's true ... it "just works" ;)
