I'm hoping there will be some updates to Lightroom very soon for the 7D. Enclosed are a couple of examples of the difference between DPP and Lightroom.

I shot these in raw mode and exported as JPG / 800x600. I didn't do any post-processing .. No cropping, color changes, nothing..

7d support isn't final yet - it's only beta support, so there's more work to do yet.

Can't see your pics - maybe because i'm at work and they're being blocked.

Which color profile are you using in DPP (or in camera)?

I think I shoot those with Faithful, if that's what you mean in AV.

That is the reason you see color difference. LR now has camera specific profiles, you can select the Faithful profile in development module.

The default rendering of Adobe profile is punchier than Canon's Faithful profile, but less so than Canon's Standard or Landscape profile.

This is quite same on all other models.

But not for the 7D - because it only has beta support at the moment. We're all waiting for the full support - with profiles. But it'll probably be another couple of months before 2.6

I personally don't see anything here to be fussed about -- the differences between the two sets of images are slight and if you weren't comparing them side-by-side you might not note them at all.

It's extremly easy to adjust the white balance of an image to taste as well. We know that different apps will interpret things somewhat differently, and WB is an example of that. These examples don't show a "deficiency" in LR as much as a very slight difference in rendering that can easily be adjusted. To me, at least!

I prefer the lightroom images. I'd like to see 100% crops to judge this sort of thing.

What? How can pixel peeping help tell if the colours are too warm or not?

I was thinking about comparing raw converters in general, not just temp. Since temp is set by the user of the raw converter I don't really think that's worth considering.

Presumably referring to the topic of this thread - "Images too warm".

It helps people like me (non-psychics) if posters stick to the topic. Or, at the least, inform others when they've decided to switch to something completely different.

Where would the fun in that be?! Sometimes people don't know the right question to ask, so by going off on tangents people learn new things.
