This weekend's dog agility trial

We had a trial in Bar Harbor Maine this last weekend. What an incredible time of year to be up in the Acadia area. We opted to only run Ash in 3 out of 5 events a day so we could spend the afternoons in the park.

I wasn't here officially photographing the event, just having some fun in between my wife running Ash. Hope you enjoy

Hey John, nice photographs. The last two are great, although my favorite is the serpentine obstacle. He looks like he's bent into a pretzel trying to get through.

I love #s 4 & 6.... 6 because you caught his expression of "Am I doing ok?" so perfectly. Actually want to commend you on the clairty and crispness on all of them them.

You have an f/2.8 lens and shoot at f/4. May I ask why? DOF? Sharpness?

Mostly for DOF. It is hard to get the focus point exactly where I'd want (on the dog's eye) with a moving dog (and panning a lot of times) so it gives me a little more room for error
