Hi, I'am italian Cps pro, I bought a 7d just to have a second fast camera body with my 1d MK3 but last week, shooting a rugby match (with the 400 f2.8 is usm lens), I've had big problems with the Af tracking. My camera doesn't follow the target expecially in low light as using the single af point as the af point expansion. Please, somebody may tell me if Have the same problem? Excuse me fo my bad english!!
Regards.
roberto

Did you customize your servo via C.Fn? Depending on the types of shooting you're doing, you will need to adjust the sensitivity and priority, etc...

Although it certainly is possible that there's an issue with 7D + 400/2.8 altogether, or issue with your particular 7D, but depending on the type of shooting you're doing, if the servo settings aren't right for the situation, it can give you poor results. That's where I would look for the problem first.

I've tested some setting but it was always the same, it loose focus. I hate that "orange menù"!! There is no other staff on a Camera that I've played with in the last two years (fu... 1dMK3)

Did your 1DMKIII do well in those conditions?
The Custom Fuctions are practically the same so I would suggest setting them alike and check what happens.

The new 1d was surely better. My first 1d was just like the 7d.
OT: Niksan, may I ask you which noise reduction software do you use?

Did you try:
C.Fn III-1 to "slow"?
C.Fn III-2 to "0"?
C.Fn III-3 to "1"?

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

Thanks a lot for information. Which you think is the better for the 7d? Your shoots look very clean. Are these softwares easy to use?

For the 7D files, I've been using Noiseware Pro.
They are pretty intuitive. What's sometimes effective is selectively applying NR on shadow areas.
