I'm in the military, and I just stopped in to shoot the breeze with our Public Affairs folks (and talk cameras, as I like to do). While there, their shipment of new cameras to replace the older Nikons came in. Two brand new 5DII kits, and two 50D kits! ARGH!!

I immediately opened one of the 5D boxes, and put it together, and got the battery charging! First time I ever held a 5D. What a fabulous camera!! And the lens seems a perfect match too! Then I glanced through the manual, and realized that with my 350D, I am in grade school, while the 5DII is at the PHD level . . .

The good news is I can use one around the building to see how I like it, but the bad news is (see my tag line), it will still be a while before I can take one home . . . Oh well, at least I will have the chance to take one for a test drive, which is more than most folks get to do . . .

yeah, I'd love to get my hands on a 5d MkII. The only local camera shop I frequent says they barely take theirs out of the case because they dont want people to touch it unless theyre gonna buy it
