I'm thinking that if my Kata 3N1 30 had a chest strap, it would be pretty much perfect. So I want to add one, preferably a stretchy one like the one on the DR-467. I've looked around a bit (including Kata's site and a couple of camping supply sites) but haven't found anything.

Anyone know where I might get something like this? Thanks!

youll have to make one for your self!

here is a list of stuff:

right strap:
1:you take the nylon webbing wrap it around your shoulder strap.
2:use one of the triglides to lock it in place (put the triglide as close to the shoulder strap as possible)
3:then you attach the male end of the buckle to that nylon webbing end. (attach it so you can pull the lose side to decrease the lenth of the buckle to strap)

left strap:
1:do steps 1 and 2 from right strap.
2: put a triglide on the open end of the strap. (do not make a loop yet)
3: put the female end of the buckle on the webbing.
4:make a loop and lock the open with the triglide.

for the ends of the webbing:
i would "melt" the ends so the webbing doesnt come apart. (assuming its like rope)
then fold over alittle part of the end at an angle and sew it on. (makes it harder for the strap to come out)
you can use safty pins to help secure the hight of the chest straps on to your shoulder staps!

sry no pictures. i was looking at my kelty bag and just went from there!

Thanks, Romeo! I thought I might have to resort to this - I'm going to see if I can hijack one from another backpack first, but might have to end up making something.

Cool, manahee. But I'm looking for a chest strap for the pack itself, to go across my chest and help keep the weight off my shoulders. But - maybe I can use my extra set of camera straps to makshift a chest strap... hmmm...

Wow I was thinking the same thing last night when I went shooting with my Kata. Thank you for actually posting something on this :D
