I don't like the size of the files! my 5D was really pushing it but the 7D? YIKES!!

Next purchase will have to be a newer and FASTER computer! 2.8GB today and it took me 30 minutes to download!

Well, this computer is 6 years old so maybe it's about time.

OH ... other than that, I can't find anything about the 7D that's not to like!

It's scary isn't it, everytime you unload a burst of shots you did one morning, you've found you're emptying 4GB of photo's onto your hardrive.

And with weddings/studio shoots you cant really delete any. I'm gunna have to ask santa for a couple 1TB drives this xmas!

After a few more days of ownership, I am finding a few things I could have done without. Not being deal breakers, but if I were mean, here they are. That unattached rubber plug on the bottom bothers me still. I will never use a wireless grip, but that plug could get lost. I do not like the AF-ON button. It is in a bad spot, easy to hit when carrying the camera, and I am not a * focus button user. It's one saving grace is it can be disabled, which I have done now. This body will never hit 8fps, unless in a test with the lens off. And I do not like having to buy a new version of Photoshop every time Canon farts. Other than that, it's a good camera so far.

That thing does irritate me as well. What's the point about claiming weather sealing if it falls off so easily? My current resolution is to keep my L-Plate on my camera to secure it. It doesn't add too much weight and doesn't interfere with my shooting so I don't mind it so much.

Now I do have a battery grip on these cameras most of the time, but even during these sessions where I've used the 40D and now the 7D without any grip, there has been no incidents with this little piece of rubber at all. I think you have to peel rather persistently to get it off, so I doubt it will walk away just like that.

Agreed ... I haven't even noticed that the plug is there ... I've never had incidents of knocking any of the control dials accidentally either come to mention it! But I guess we each handle our equipment differently .... oo-er ;)

I am not worried about it "falling off", although it could get scraped off, I am more concerned about dufus taking it off, laying it down and then forgetting where he left it.

That people are already trying to compare it to the 1D series cameras, sorry kids but a 1D it isn't.

You mean this prosumer body's autofocus and weather sealing aren't on par with the professional targeted 1d series pro body?

Same as the 20 to 50D. Mode dial does not lock.

only thing so far for me is the feel of the shutter button. ...too sensitive IMO. I'm coming from a 40d, and i keep accidentally taking pictures when just trying to give a half press. Granted maybe this is actually better, but until i get used to it, it'll keep bothering me.

Okay, after using it a bit longer and after coming back from a trip.
I did managed to bump the mode dial a few times, not even sure how I did

This thing is hungry for cards, and for some strange reason the 450D (12MP) with a 16GB card can fit more shots than the 7D (@10MP) with a 16GB card, go figure.

I had a problem with the camera refusing to take a picture a few times but have just read that this was fixed in the new firmware.

The rubber cover shouldn't come off in normal cases, I pulled it off to have a look its got a lip on the rubber seal and needed a bit of force to remove it and put it back.

Had a big raindrop fall on the AF-on/* Button no affect but haven't tested it anything more than a drizzle. The big drop was off a building.

all in all still love this thing!!!

I've had my 40D for two years and my 50D for one and I have yet to notice any problem with the rubber cover. As I do have a WFT-E3 wireless grip, which I've used on both cameras, the cover has indeed been removed and refitted a number of times, but it only comes off when I choose to take it off.

both the body and grip shutters seem to be this way. ...i just liked the shutter operation on the 40 better so far. There was a definite feel in the pressing that differentiated between the half press to a full fire.

So either i'm the only one who thinks this, or i have a funny shutter on mine.

I see where you're coming from. At first I didn't, but then I realized that with the way I have my camera set up I am rarely ever doing a half-press on the shutter.

I have noticed that the button on the grip is more sensitive, not from pressing it but that I more often get accidental shots when taking the camera in or out of the bag.
