sigma 12-24mm is the widest non-fisheye lens for full frame or 1.3x crop cameras. quite acceptable at 12mm if stopped down. (apparently, i haven't tried one. i have used the sigma 14mm f2.8 which was ok, but not stellar)

This is a grand discussion. The links and searches on wide angle and fisheye were a very pleasant surprise as I rarely think about shooting this range. Dwight McCann
