Flash flashing on the led

My flash gun has brand new batteries.But its flashing on and off on the led screen on the back.Not sure why.Ive got it on the basic settings nothing fancy.Any thoughts?sorry if this seems broad but im not sure what to explain.

Check to see if the wide panel is out. Pull it out and push it back in.

If the wide panel is out, the LCD display will bounce if the flash head is not pointed straight forward. It's a stupid and rather annoying design.
