I have on the forum since January, 09. My wife gave me a SX10is for Christmas (I am 62 years young and was like a child when she gave it to me for Christmas). I enjoyed the SX10is so much that I purchased a 50D refurbished from Adorama and it came today, 10/16. In reading the forum for the last 6 months I read that many people purchased refurbished cameras and said how many times the shutter was pressed. I looked on the menu and the only thing I can find is the review of the photos. It said that the folder was 100-011. Can this be true? If not, where can I find the info? Please help.

You are all the best at what you with photos and I am happy to learn from you.

You can download a utility, though I forget what it is called, that will tell you how many clicks are on the shutter when you plug the camera in via USB cable.

CanCount? that may be the name of it, though I am not sure as I've never used it.

You can download a program from here:

It should work to get you a shutter count. Enjoy the 50D! It is a great camera!
