Thank you kent!!!
My vote goes to kiwichris too, part of it is how his picture gives me this 'oldy worldy' feeling, the way the composition is and the colors, the other reason to vote for his picture is the story that goes with it, it really touched me and although maybe other pictures are technically better, I am totally going with my emotions here........

between SSracer,Kent and Dyord....my vote goes to Kent..love the super hero stuff really..almost like walking after a mission accomplished..! Liked the color tone of SSracer's pic but was a bit too glaring or harsh on the eyes..

I was really disappointed I did not get a chance to submit, great job to those who did.

My three favorites were Kent, Soliwit and Dyrod.

I was a lego nut as a kid and that shot really worked for me, and I really like the perspective and the depth of field

I lived with my grandmother for a few years when I was little and she used to let me lick the beaters when she made cakes, so worked from an emotional leve.l and I thought that Soliwit did a nice job with the exposure, white is not easy.

DYORD's shot is awesome, great job doing something technically challenging, you don't get my vote only because I have seen this style shot from you before and so it didn't really strike me as a treat from your youth, more of an excuse to show us one of your kick ass liquid in motion shots.

I am going to go with Soliwit, cause I can only pick one.

Thanks for the votes every one, it was rather funny in a way, I planned what I wanted to do, then had to wait for fine weather which arrived the day of the deadline. During the shoot, I was tapped on the shoulder by a man partially crippled who told me that he did not want a photo taken of his girls, also partially crippled, they all had twisted legs, some sort of genetic disorder I guess. I had been concentrating so hard on what I was doing, I had not even seen them, then they proceded to get in the way of my field of view! Needless to say I took no shots of them, then, only after posting, I noticed my spectacles in the shot  So I left them there.

My vote Soliwit, I love the smooth almost monochromatic rendition, the exposure is spot on, the bright silver has detail and not blown and the lovely soft pinky creamy white. I would be happy to hang this on my wall.

i hate to be the punk-arse here, but i dont think we are voting on "the story" or else we could all give some long typed out answer "selling" our pic. (i know that wasnt Chris' motivation, so dont take this as an attack.....more just a way to post only the pic and let the SHOT convey the emotions w/o words).

but, your story about made me cry, chris, and you had my vote anyway right up to the time i saw.....

kent's shot of lego neil armstrong.

i loved the composition, the action of the walking lego-man, the perspective making him look life-sized, and the background. i was a huge lego freak as a kid, too. maybe that has something to do with my vote.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

Since a winner has not been declared, I am going to toss my vote in, even though its past voting deadline.. whoever can choose to count this one or not, either way...

I will toss my vote for Kent as well. Thought the lifesize lego man was creative, loved the DoF, and the detail.. he isn't just standing, but he is walking heroically away from a mission.. just thought it portrayed the story the best.

Well done this comp guys, can't wait to hear the next comp.

Well, if we need a tie breaker, I can give my vote. Didn't notice that voting ended on the 28th, sorry.
Anyway, I vote for Soliwits photo for the win! Licking the beaters after mixing the cake batter was also one of my favorite treats from my childhood. Also the photo has good technical qualities as well. Good exposure, composition and lighting...Well done young lady!

And good job by all!

dangit, wish i would've seen this one. not because i think i'd have won (highly doubtful, lol), but i have so many of my "treats" from the past still, would have been fun unpacking a few of them from their boxes in the basement, practicing up on my photog skills, reliving simpler times in the process. lol

was fun to look through the photo's in here though. :)
