Friday HS Football- Falcons get their first win of the seaon.

Thats right. Glendale got their first win of the season to have a record of 1-7. IT was a super close game, back and forth. IT all came down to a missed extra point with just over a minute left on the clock. The final score was 35-34.

- I also tried out a new marketing strategy tonight that seemed to work out just a little. I might have to give it more goes at different venues to decide if it is worth it.. I guess it will all depend on the sales.
- I Also also did something different when editing these, I typically wont crop with a specific ratio but these are all at a 5x7 aspect, and unless soemone orders an 8x10, I have found that is the size most people order. Normally I crop to what looks the best. But This was something pointed out to me last time- why my photos had a bunch of different crops.. so I tried something a little different.

Nice shots, Dave, and a good balance with the flash. However the red channel is blown and clipping in 1, 2, 4, 5, well anywhere there is a red uniform. Maybe these were done in JPG and there isn't any recovery possible?

re: crops; I definitely prefer when looking at a set of photos that they all have the same crop ratio. Preferably the original but 2x3, 4x5 or 5x7 work of course.

Nice shots Dave. On crops, I have been "Safe" cropping everything 1600 x 2166 (or vice-verse for landscape crops) for my site just like Max-Preps requires for their submitted photos. I created a "Safe-zone" action in photoshop that I run after I crop that insures the subject in the photo will not be cut off even at the smallest print. This works great for the most popular selling sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 16x20). After cropping a thousand photos you really don't need the action anymore as you instinctively know where the "safe zone" is Anyway, It's very convenient for me, and puts my mind at ease knowing that after I'm done editing and it's uploaded that it's covered no matter what size the customer orders. Give it a try if you have a bunch to do!

This photo was cropped 1600 x 2166 and you can see the "Safe Zone" action lines which tell me that no matter what size is ordered, everything within the blue lines is "Safe" from being cropped out when printed.

Some great action here,sometimes the colors are what they are and some minor tweeks in pp can do woners and sometimes not. Also the crops look great and standard, but like 10meg suggest the safe crop action is awsome. And what I have been using this fall and from here on out.
