First of all, this problem is not related to anything with POTN.

I am selling on eBay from a few months. The things were going smooth, until I met a person who bought a 135cm octa from me over eBay.

He paid and I shipped it in time. Parcel reached UK with in 14 days of the buyer paying the item.

Now, he ended up paying customs at UK department. Secondly the items had come manufacturning defect of different size rods and a smudhed Rotalux Logo, which while checking the item or packing we have not noticed.

BEcause we are not authorised to open the items. In case we do, they will be termd as open and then buyer might again think it as a used item.

Buyer shouted at me on the night he rcieved the octa and asked me to give a full refund, which he paid as the customs. He asked me to delcare it as of low value, but the custom people opened the packed and charged him.

He asked me to change the Rods as well, upon invstigating with the manufacturing supervisor of Elinchrom over phone, he told me that rods are not available as such. But they asked me to get the item replaced as a complete set.

I forwarded the same message to the buyer. After this email, I offered him a 10% coupon on my store for discount on next purchase. He refused and asked me for a refund of the custmo duty and a 20% discount coupon. Which after clearly saying him that I cant replace any part but the item as whole, and upon he accepted, I issued a refund and gave a 20% discount coupon.

Matter resolved! (I thought so)

But next day I got an email from him that he 'thought over night and now he thinks that he dont want to keep the octa and want a replacement'

I said ok theres no problem, I will replace the item. Send the item back to me. Which he refused. He kept asking me to send a replacement, without him to sending the other octa back to me. Which I refused and any would have. I told him that in case I will replace the complete set, there will be not discount or refund. Upon which he asked me to send a Grid+Grid reflector for free as a compensation. In the meantime he opened a case with PayPal saying that "he want to stay in a safe zone" and posted a negative feedback.

After a mess of 4 hours he told me that he will remove the negative feedback and close the paypal clai (which I escalated before so that paypal can intervene) only if I will send him the compensation, keeping in mind this deal as a "LOSS", I agreed on the fact. He did what he said.

Now I got a sale on eBay and I had sold the only grid available with me. I asked him to wait just for a 3 days so my stock can arrive and Iwill send him a replacement. Then he started shouting at me again, I asked him that if he cant wait, I can send him a reflector only which is in stock. Which he said that send me a refelctor now and grid later, which I refused.

Upon that he started signing up on each and every photography forum where I have an account and started posting in the threads that I am an dishonest seller.

Now it did not end at here at all, now his wife ought ba maxisoft over ebay and without paying for the item, she left me a negative feedback and stated that I am an dishonest seller and I have kept her waiting for the stock. Which is simply fakE!

I did not send her any email and never asked her to wait. She left e a negative feedback in just 15 mins. Upon contac ting her, she is claiming that she do not have any relation with the buyer and she has sympathy for him and she wants everyone on the earth to know what I am a dishonest seller.

I just found her name on that buyer's photography portal.

I just want to know where I am wrong?

I paid him refund of the duties for which I have no liability, he accepted this as a resolution at first but then changeed his mind, upon asking for the grid to come ins tock, he started posting in the threads to affect my business and now he is using his wife's ID or may be its her wife only who is doing such things

I want to know your views over this situation.

In my opinion you already did too much. You gave an inch and he is attempting to take advantage. He can send you the item back for replacement or he can keep it and be unhappy. And most certainly you should not have paid the customs fees!

I know I did a mistake issuing him a refund. eBay policies are getting wiered, buyer have all the rights to post a negative feedback ,which was my concern. But now he used that right and affected my business at the end.

Wow.

These are the kind of people who truly believe that everybody is out to screw them, and to prevent that they want to screw everybody first.

My only advise for you is to do exactly what you are doing, post on the same forums as them and be completely honest about the situation.

Don't feel sorry for yourself, instead know that they will never be happy and content in life. That's something to be sorry about.

Unfortunately this is eBays new business model. I have long since gave up selling anything on eBay and only rarely buy anything either. Good luck but it sounds like no matter how you handle this he is not going to be happy. Definitely contact eBay to see if there is anything they can do. You never know.

One thing these days I like about eBay is the "Ebay Court (external link)" You can file an appeal to deal with the negative feedback. And most of the time the Jury member do help in getting this negative feedback thingy removed.

I like this idea because whenever I contactedong award any of the eBay representative, I only got a copy/paste reply that we cannot do anything even when buyer do not pay and upon awarding them unpaid item strike, they award back the Negative feedback.

I had filed an appeal in that Court, lets hope for the best!

FINGERS CROSSED!

I will definetely get my feedback removed because she have not paid me and I dont see her paying. Because she just bought to post a negative feedback.

You all would wonder that I am getting email from her from last two days. She is claiming all the time that she is a busy women, she is not in relation with buyer, calling buyer a victim and herself "Sincere Photographer" who is loyal to some one she dont know.

Everytime she send me an emai I laugh at her, the way she writes and trying to justify her ethics.

She asked me in the last email that how is my business doing and asked if I have found the blogs she posted about me, I dont know where she p osted so when asked, she said "Find it yourself, these will remain here for years and you will see. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY BACK"

Dont know why people spare this much time for abusing others

Because they are not normal.

A sane person would realize that their plan is actually backfiring, because I know that if I need an Elinchrom product I will order from you as you have proved to be a dedicated seller.

Thank you for that relieving comment Nick

Here is the last email I got from that Lady, who still claims she dont have any relation

Maybe if you want to be so proud about deceiving the victim, you should write to him direct instead of boasting to a woman. You really are slime. You are refering to me as family but you already know the truth so I can ignore that stupid comment. The victim is not even aware of this conversation unless you told him. He has suffered enough already. You wouldn't understand because in India everybody just look out for themselves and family. That's why you have the rich who don't care about the 90% poor. No schools, no hospitals for poor kids. You are typical. A year from now you will be forgotten but those negative blogs will live on to remind you and the world what you have done. YOU WILL SUFFER LOSS OF SALES FOR YEARS TO COME. You are crying because you know that bad publicity isn't good for business. Correct?

Yeah, she is really making it sound like she has no affiliation with the "victim." I've come to learn that 9 out of 10 people you meet everyday are actually batsh... insane.

EBay actually allows the buyer to leave negative feedback before they pay? That's crazy.

Yup, they allow to post a negative feedback. But a seller apart from asking them for help, cant do anything.
