How would you pose a group of 6-10 people if only one person was in a wheelchair....My first thought would be to have a couple of the others in the front row seated as well to balance the photo. There is an 8" platform at the alter that the B/G will take vows and is stationary and candle table is mobile, so it can be moved out of the way. There's only about 10' between the platform and the first row of pews. Also, what would be the best formation of the entire bridal party (10) given the 8" platform can't be moved and isn't long enough to have them all stand on it.....any thoughts?

Aside from all you are trying to illustrate, I just have to say that special needs people do not like to be adjusted to. They just want to be treated like everyone else... the more fuss you make over them, the more alienated they feel. Hope that helped.

I am on the same page as you are...but this was something the man's wife asked me to do. She even suggested using the large square-backed chairs that are in the background behind the alter....there's just very little room for formals...the first pew is really close.

Hey DC, just go with your instincts... I myself would not get caught up in moving stuff around. I am sure you will do great. BTW do you like that Sekonic you are using. I am thinking of one.

I'd shoot from the altar, towards the chairs and have the first row of people sat down, and the B&G stood in the aisle.

Or, simply have everyone as I normally would and have the gentleman in the wheelchair towards the front.

I've never done a wedding where there was a wheelchair involved, but have attended a couple. If the family would rather not have the wheelchair in the photos, I would ask the church to provide a high-back chair w/ armrests. I would incorporate that into the picture.

I like my Sekonic...I use it all the time, mostly in flash mode to measure strobes.....all went great yesterday. I ended up placing the other Dad in a chair as well...I thought it looked good. Hindsight being 20/20...I would have moved the chair on the left towards camera a little. (will post a pic soon)

On a side note...Had one family ask if the wheelchair could be edited out of the images....Ummmm no.
