I was walking my dog in the back yard last night when I noticed a kitty hiding behind the shed. I quietly walked to the side of the house and waited for the cat to emerge.

Both pictures were taking with a Canon 50D and a 70-200 f/4.

Very nice. It looks like a Maine Coon breed. Which can get fairly large and remarkably aggressive. I had one where I used to live (which refused to come with me even with triple tranquilizers, beyond which the vet said it was unsafe) -- Now it lives with a trusted family member.

Anyway when it was a kitten outside (wild caught), the father regularly tried to kill the kittens. But this one regularly stood up and chased the father away. Maine Coons are great.

Very nice. That cat camoflauged really well with that tree.

Beautiful pictures, though I don't agree with the earlier post about looking like a Maine Coon Cat. I see no similarities. Looks like all the other tiger colored domestic house cats in my area, and nothing like my neighbors Maine Coon. I have 3 tiger cats of my own. Great shots, keep up the good work.

Nature's Camoflauge at its best.

Didnt the cat run when you had your dog?

I saw the cat hiding behind the shed while walking the dog.. I wanted to get some pics so I took the dog to the side of the house and waited for the cat to come out .. It came out and snuck over to the tree..
