This is a jalapeno pepper in my garden. Please tell me everything wrong with this picture...and hopefull anything right. I only used a little Canon DPP on it. Thanx.

The overly white leaf tops are competing with the pepper for attention.

I would have to say less white bowl would help. It is a little out of focus, and don't cut the bottom of the pepper off. Maybe if all the supporting items were stacked, and this sat in front of the stack, and you took a shot from level, not above, (keep the background OOF) that would be a huge improvement over the first pepper shot.
