I have shot a Soccer Match for the first time at my college. ISO 200, 1/2000, F/5.6. The shadows were brutal at some spots. 50D/70-200 F/2.8 L IS

The action in shots #1& 2 are nice, but the shadows distract from the composition. On the other hand #9 and 10 are the best IMHO, and #3 would have been a keeper if it wasnt for the distracting background. They are all pretty nice shots though

Just some stuff to take pictures with!;)

Actually, image posting rules limit # of photos posted to 8.

Allowed # of images: In 'Photo Sharing' section:

  1. You may attach *) maximum of two (2) photos per thread. This means: you may attach up to 2 photos when you start a new thread. You may attach additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.
  2. You may embed **) maximum of eight (8) photos per thread. This means: you may embed up to 8 photos when you start a new thread. You may embed additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post. If photo size exceeds 1024x1024 box, you may not embed it: post a link (URL) to it instead.

Now onto the pics. You would have had better results if you would have shot w/ the sun at your back. The faces are too much in the shadows. Look at the difference between #10 and #1. Also, I would have shot f/2.8 to help w/ blurring out the distracting backgrounds. Shooting through the net is a bit distracting. For a first time out, you did a pretty decent job at capturing the action. Some nit-picky things to look out for is chopping off hands and feet.
