Not an issue, let's get all pertinent information posts into this one, and I will keep moving them up to the top accordingly. I added the video one as soon as the OP posted that thread alerting us to it, but it is easy to miss in that list. That is why I may change categories around a bit once the 7D items die down.

Interesting but the offer ends on 29th Nov. and of course it is out of stock. Any real chance of it being in stock before that offer is gone.........no. But I found a 7D at my local jessops for £1299 (Out of stock at Jessops.com).
My thinking was, it's a lot of money, it's gorgeous, it's a lot of money, my 40D is getting a little old, it's a lot of money, if the 50D had been this camera I'd have bought it, it's a lot.........aw heck the credit card is paid off every month, what credit crunch!

Now can somebody stop all this bloody rain so that I can get out and take some pics! And I mean stop the rain during the limited hours of daylight!!

Jessops will attempt a price match. I recently purchased my 7D for £1249 from Jessops in Reading. They tried to price match an online price but said they couldnt go the whole way but said they'd meet me in the middle.

It could be useful as I've got an issue and it is much easier being able to walk into a store to change things than it is over the internet.

Got mine also for £1190, but it set off the alarm bells with visa and so the purchase was made this week- still for £1190. I was lucky. Also from ABC!

Was looking for a PDF 7D user manual and found one:

Funny mine did as well but ABC were so good and it was sorted in half an hour. Will be buying from them again ;)

I was at work, so was a little tricky. Had visa ring me at night also, so was quite unusual. Very happy still- quite liked the checking routine- better to be safe.

Just discovered focusing by using live view. It's great!
(Check out the SE thread -we sometimes have meet ups ;) )

Am off to NZ in Feb and looked at price in Singapore - and it was quoted S$500 - I did an exchange conversion and that came out at about £220- can this be possible or have I done something wrong in the conversion???????????????

Your maths is correct for the currency conversion, but I don't think the figure of S$500 can be right.

It's a long time (9 years) since I've passed through Singapore, on the way to Oz, but from my memory there were no bargains to be had at the airport. I would have been better off buying in the UK and having a proper local warranty. Prices in Oz were no better for high end photo/video gear either and in terms of the technology on offer they seemed rather behind the times. I was actually after a Sony DCR-PC110 digital camcorder and ended up buying it in the UK for £1300 shortly after my return. The 64MB memory stick was a further £100!
