Excellent stuff Andrew.

He's not afraid to break the rules and that's one of the things I like about Andrew's landscape work.

He definitely knows how to work these lenses. We can call him the Zeiss whore. :);)

I got one question for you Andrew. Do you shoot in aRGB in camera and then work in Prophoto RGB in LR? I want to get away from sRgb and try working in a different color space. I've worked in aRGB before but, I always found it convenient to work in sRGB. Thanks.

Yeah, I shoot in AdobeRGB and work in ProPhoto 16-bit. Now I present my pictures
in ProPhoto as well :) I know some will see dull ugly sh$t, but if they care, they will
install Safari or update Firefox to be color managed and never touch IE and Chrome....
sRGB destroys yellows, oranges and reds.

Well if you pick spring time you will be treated to this kind of scene. In the summer there isn't a cloud in the sky for months. I live here and people are more than welcome to stop in and get some tips on the area or go shooting.

Joe

Here's a good review of the Zeiss but it pits it against the 17 TS-E and not the 24

Thanks for that, but I already went through ths review before. For my understand 24 TS-E II image quality should be better compare to 17 TS-E.

Maybe I just need to review it by myself after my Zeiss here :P

That aRGB/sRGB camera colour space setting is only relevant to JPEG shooters. Andrew is shooting RAW so he chooses his colour space and bit depth in the RAW converter.

This is good news for you if you've also shot RAW because you can always go back to your favourite shots and reconvert into a wide gamut and larger bit depth regardless of what your camera colour space was set to at the time.

I originally ordered the zeiss, but the store made a mistake (already sold it to another customer).
I could take the TS-E24II home and try it for a few weeks.

As much as I lusted for the zeiss 21mm, I still decided to pay extra for the TSE. Color and microcontrast of the zeiss is nicer, but it's so fun to be able to correct perspectives and to put your plane of focus where you want it. It's also insanely sharp with no CA.

Thanks Foxbat. I shoot RAW exclusively. I appreciate your input. :D
